    1. Hi Star, thank you so much. I am really pleased you like the videos. It’s great to know it’s worth while continuing to make them. Are you a subscriber, or do you just see them through this blog? I have some Disneyland Paris videos and Ripleys too. I had to get Ripleys permission to use theirs, as it’s got ripleys believe it or not TV in it, that is amazing. New year happiness blessings to you. It’s always great to hear from you.x

    1. Thanks Ute, thanks so much for subscribing to my channel, it’s lovely of you. I am going to try to post at least a video a week this year. A lot of them will be about embracing your quirky, like the inspirational one, covering many different aspects of quirkiness in different situations, as mentioned in my Shout Out to followers video, not sure if you saw that one? I also have Disneyland Paris videos to publish and Ripleys Believe it or not in London.

      1. Thanks Ste for your feedback, it’s really nice to know. I am going to try to post a video a week. It’s taken me almost 3 hours to take the Christmas decorations down today. Then I had to take stuff out of my cupboards to put into the loft, to make more room for business files, do some dusting, which I normally don’t do very often, and filed paperwork, chucked stuff away and tidied. Now I am finally eating a proper meal. I am really hungry.

      2. Hi Dan, well, a lot has happened in the last year. To summarise, I still have a full time day job. I teach Blogging as an aid to recovery for the Recovery Learning Community that is part of the NHS, I was teaching that as a self-employed person and now I teach I am on the NHS Partnership Trust Staff Bank. I am also teaching Twitter and Facebook for recovery this year. I am building a whole quirky brand, I do quirky business mentoring and have my own youtube channel that is an extension of this blog http://www.youtube.com/user/quirkybooksTV – My mission is to empower people to embrace their quirky and be their authentic self no matter what. I created and used my Embrace Your Quirky philosophy to overcome depression and have been free of it for 3 years. I never took medication for my depression. I now want to help others to embrace their quirky and lead a happy and fulfilling existence as their authentic self and am publishing a series of videos this year to support that. I will cover how to embrace your quirky quirky in many aspects of your life. I am also known as http://www.blogtrainer.co.uk and teach Blog Training For Business Masterclasses at the Phoenix in Exeter, in the UK. I am still publishing my Break through the Barriers of Redundancy Book, after I have finish building 6 more sites, so I can advertise them in the back of my book.

      3. Wow! I’m already exhausted just after reading everything that you’re doing! First off, you’re a true inspiration for kicking depression on your own and for working to help others do the same. And as for the Blog Training and the teaching that you’ve been doing, all while continuing with your book– it’s all incredible, to say the least. I can’t wait to go through your blog and read what I’ve missed this past year and check out your youtube channel as well!

      4. Hi Dan, thank you so much. The Blogging, Twitter and Facebook that I teach for the NHS, is to help people with mental ill health to recover and heal. My Break through the barriers of redundancy book I typed up a while ago, but I have to repaginate and reindex it, in its Amazon page size. It’s going to take ages because Word doesn’t automatically paginate it into a book format. I have had people wanting to buy my book for a while. My Grandma died that year, that was tough and so did Cinnamon and Snuggles, within a month of each other. Hoping this year that everything will be good, that I finally get my book published and that more people will love what I do and help me to keep doing it by Liking, following and subscribing to my YouTube channel. My goal is to be an inspirational speaker on stage in London, with my Embrace Your Quirky philosophy and eventually hold Embrace Your Quirky seminars/workshops, have an Embrace Your Quirky book and other stuff. I am giving you an exclusive there, as I have never said ‘all’ of this on my blog before. If you want to subscribe to my channel, that would be awesome.

      5. Thanks for sharing that with me Sandra! As difficult as it is to believe and understand at times, I truly believe that everything happens for a reason. I think your experiences will give you an upper hand in being able to reach out and help even more people. I just subscribed to your channel, so I look forward to following that too. And as for the book, I know how you feel about it taking a while. I have been dealing with editor after editor after editor, and it seems like a never-ending process, but knowing that we’ll be able to help people in the long run makes it all worthwhile!

      6. Hi Dan, I am totally at one with you, about everything happens for a reason. I really hope I can help more people and yes, once we get one book published, it should be an easier process the next time around and with definitely be worth it to help so many others. Thanks for subscribing to my channel, I aim to publish one video at least, every week. As always there will be a quirky mix of videos. If you are ever in the UK on your travels, let me know. I am hoping to meet up with more bloggers/online friends. Thank you for your support, it’s lovely.

      7. Hi Sandra! I have no doubt that you’ll be able to help more people; you’re already well on your way with your videos! I just got an email about the newest video, so I look forward to watching it. And I’ll definitely let you know if I’m in the UK! If you happen to come to America and stop by Florida at all, let me know too!

      8. Hi Dan, I don’t like flying!! So although I love America and the people – and I have a lot of followers from there, more than the UK at times, there is pretty much zilch chance of it happening. I tend to stay in the UK, usually I got to London for business and fit in a bit of pleasure, although I went to Disneyland Paris by Eurostar last year. It was amazing. I love that place. Last time I went was in 2005. I had to get a new passport. I still have videos to publish from that and Ripleys. Oh, yes, I would love your feedback about my latest video, my latest blog post contains that video. Thanks for the compliment about my videos helping people. That’s awesome. Smiling now. I teach blogging for the NHS to help people recovery from mental ill health and I noticed you a training to be a mental health counsellor so we have a lot in common.

      9. I don’t blame you! I’m not a huge fan of flying either but hopefully I can make it to the UK or at least somewhere near there soon! And what an awesome experience to have gone to Disneyland Paris! I’d love to see the video once you upload it. And I couldn’t agree more with you; we’re definitely in the same boat of wanting to make a difference in the mental health field so we do have a lot in common!

    1. Hi Brenda, awww! Thank you. She literally is a baby. I bought her to be with Daisy after Cinnamon passed, I had to get her the same day, because Daisy immediately stopped eating and drinking. She cannot live by herself. It’s like her and Chestnut have been together for years. Her 1st Birthday is on April 23rd. The day before mine. I will have to have a joint birthday party with her and one of my own. Happy Quirky Year to you xx

      1. Hi Brenda, yes. I took Daisy to meet Chestnut before I bought her and as soon aa they were in the car together to go home, Daisy started to eat again

      2. Thank you Brenda. It’s like Daisy and Chestnut have been together for years. I had to put my own feelings aside, because Cinnamon had only died that morning, and use protocol that I had come to terms with before. When Daisy had her ops, she had to go back in with Cinnamon within two days or less as she would stop eating and drinking. She literally can’t live on her own. She is 3 on the 19th of this month.

      3. I lived with a Siamese cat for many years, but unfortunately, I developed terrible allergies, and the last 10 years were a series of respiratory problems. Eventually even my skin itched when he laid on my arm, and I don’t dare get another fuzzy pet. I long to have one, though.

      4. Ah! Brenda, that’s so sad for you. You can’t help allergies. Is there any homeopathic remedy that can help? I once had a homeopathic remedy to counteract a problem with a substance found in furniture. Good job, because a lot of my life has been spent selling furniture.

      5. I don’t know if it would or not. It would be a terrible risk because we would all get attached, and if I was still having respiratory problems, we would be stuck. I feel pretty happy with the love and affection of my hubby and kids, so I long, but I don’t take the risk… You look very pleased with your pets, though. 🙂

      6. Hi Brenda, I understand completely. I wouldn’t suggest taking a risk like that. You would have to borrow (pet sit) a pet to test if it worked over a long period of time, before considering a pet, but I know that may be too risky. Everything happens for a reason. I am happily single, but need my piggies, they are definitely an inspiration and motivation to me.

      7. Happy people are people who have managed how to focus on and appreciate what they have. There’s no magic formula of things that make a person happy or not happy. It’s all in how you look at things. Or so I believe.

      8. Hi Brenda, I assume you are saying that in response to me saying I am happily single. I agree in part to what you say about being happy, but I also believe that there is a formula for happiness and what you say is part of it. Be grateful and appreciate what you have, but never settle for it if it’s not making you happy, and in that case, change it. You can’t be happy with what you have got, unless it makes you happy. If you change your mindset about it and perspective, that’s great, but does it make you truly happy? Although sometimes, if something’s not making you feel good and happy, one has to create situations and take massive action to obtain that happiness.

      9. I didn’t say it in response to your being single, but when thinking over my pet-less life. And making good decisions is part of being happy, certainly. Having a plan and working toward achieving something can generate its own happiness. I just meant that even people who seemingly have it all, pets and all, don’t always seem happy. So perhaps being happy is something other than having, perhaps it’s in how we view our goals and our striving toward them. Some people are in seriously bad, unhappy circumstances that would depress anyone, but if they can’t be escaped, then finding your inner spark, still unextinguished, would be a good thing. I have been very unhappy in my life, but I escaped in books. In that way, every day was happy even though everything else in my life was unhappy and scary.

      10. Hi Brenda, sorry for misunderstanding what you are saying. Of course you can still be happy without pets. I believe everything happens for a reason. You can also get furless cats and guineapigs I believe, but not sure if that would make a difference? You are fine as you are. Thank you for sharing such insight into your life and thinking, I am very fortunate you feel able to be so open with me. I don’t know if you knew I suffered with depression for years? It’s only over the last 3 years that I have become truly happy and can look at most situations with a positive slant. I don’t know if you have been watching my videos on my http://www.youtube.com/user/quirkybooksTV channel? In some of my latest videos, that I also posted on this blog, I mention about the fact I suffered with depression for years and most of the time, didn’t even want to exist in this life. I created and used, my Embrace Your Quirky philosophy to free myself from depression without the need for medication. It’s this philosophy that I use in my life and business and want use to help others. That’s why I am doing more videos about it, about how to be your authentic self in multiple situations, regardless of what anyone else thinks, says or does.
