Celebrating 8th Year Bloggerversary For Quirky Books – Counting The 10 Moments That Count With Sandra Bellamy

Sandra and furry kid Chestnut

On the 8th of November, this year, 2018 – something amazing happened! I was sent a congratulations on my 8th year Bloggerversary for this Quirky Books blog.

In the time I started this blog, great things have happened to me:

  1. In 2012, I overcame depression using my Embrace Your Quirky Philosophy, which is all about being your true, authentic self, no matter what anyone else, says, thinks, or does.
  2. In 2012, I also was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, which took 6 months to come to terms with, and then I saw the blessings of it and how it truly changed my life, for the better, forever, it became my super power. Fibro is a chronic pain condition that affects the nerves and muscles of the body, you can’t usually die from it, but you can get other life threatening conditions because it can lower your immune system. Worse case is you can end up on crutches or in a wheelchair. Many people are tired with it and lack energy, I am different, because I do things differently, as you will read from my new fibro book that is coming out soon.
  3. I saved someone’s life in 2013.
  4. I won a local business award in 2013 for my www.beatredundancyblues.co.uk website idea.
  5. I completed a 14 week pattern changing course to ensure I don’t get into an abusive long-term relationship ever again.
  6. I met HM The Queen at St James’s Palace, and spoke to her.
  7. In 2014, I discovered I am hetero-asexual in sexual orientation, not hetero-sexual, so I am attracted to guys romantically, not sexually. I want to kiss them, not have sex with them – well the right guys, I am aesthetically attracted to younger, foreign guys, in their 20s! Asexual cougar! But not found the right asexual guy in the UK yet.
  8. In 2017, Quirky Books became my own publishing imprint and my Asexual Perspectives 47 Asexual Stories, Love, Life and Sex, ACElebration of Asexual Diversity book, was published under Quirky Books, and cannot only be got through Amazon, but can be ordered through books stores and is in 6 libraries around the UK, including the British Library. My book will go down as part of English heritage and help tons of people for generations to come.
  9. This year I got to be a speaker in London at the UK Asexuality Conference, on the 8th of July. It was amazing. I was part of a relationships panel discussion and also had my own 45 minute talk with Q & A, about how to arrange an asexual meetup.
  10. I organise asexual in person meets in my city in the UK, since January 2015, and these days people come from all over the UK to them. This weekend I have another one and will be spending time with 9 asexuals on the official meetup day on Sunday 18th Nov, for a Chinese meal at Tang Shian restaurant and a 10th person will join us later for the Christmas light switching on in my city. I am meeting up with 7 of the 10, the evening before, for another meetup, and one of my asexual friends is staying in my city on Friday so I am meeting up with him and going clubbing, and him and another are staying over Sunday, so I shall see them Monday too. I love having asexual friends, happy days.

All of these 10 moments in my life have counted so much to my happiness, but there is many more I have had and many more to come, so this list is not exhaustive. Remember to make every moment count in your life, because once that moment is gone, it’s gone forever. Which reminds me that my Disneyland Paris 21st Mindset Birthday last year, was also one of the very best things to happen to me in my life, ever! So that is bonus number 11.

On the 8th of November, I also saw my furry kid daughters, which was fantastic to see them. Above are the photos I took whilst with them and I am visiting them again tomorrow, because on the 8th, they were both diagnosed with suspected ovarian cysts (Chestnut has lost some weight because of this), and both are having operations this Thursday 15th of November to remove those, so please pray they will be okay. Their hearts are strong, but it is a delicate operation for little piggies. I am really thankful the head vet who is now doing their operations, as he is experienced and the best chance they have of being okay. He was off sick and their appointment would have been tomorrow but it has been moved to Thursday so he can do it! Happy days again.

Here is a live stream I did on the 8th of Nov, of Chestnut, on my Asexualise channel.

Until next time, stay quirky and write soon

Happy Easter – Do you think it’s good to put all of your eggs in one basket or not?

Happy Easter
To put all your eggs in one basket or not? What do you think?

There is so much useful and helpful advice out there about not putting all your in one basket, but to get anything done it often requires focus on one thing at a time, (time blocking), to maximise productivity. So for that moment in time, you could say that it is good to put all of your eggs in that one basket. What do you think, would you agree or disagree, and why?

Have a Quirky Easter and if you don’t celebrate it, well, you could use it as another reason to have some more chocolate!! Yummy! Or a day out with the family – or just to say “Happy Easter” to those who do!

I have two wheat free, gluten free, yeast free, and every other allergen to me free, Easter Eggs! Thanks to my mum. (Love you mum xx)

How are you going to be celebrating?

Happy Quirky Easter!

Lots and love and write soon

Pre- 21st Mindset Birthday Gift And Guinea Pig Card From A Work Colleague!

Beautiful tripple hanging quotes and guinea pig birthday card.

So this year, in true quirky style, I am having the mother of all mother’s; huge, big, gigantic, 7 day birthday celebration, starting this Sat 22nd of April in London, followed by 5 days and 4 nights at EuroDisney (Disneyland Paris), and returning to London on 27th, with a whole day in London on the 28th.  My actual birthday is on Mon 24th of April, which will be my first full day in the park. I am going for a huge self-date to EuroDisney and meeting up with friends while in London. Super excited.

Today is my last day in my day job before I break for my holiday and a work colleaue gave me a guinea pig card and this triple hanging quotes set for my birthday – plus this gorgeous bear bag, that is like a gift in itself. So thoughtful!

I still have holiday prep to do!! And things to sort out to do with my own business stuff. I have bought some new clothes, but I still need a few more tops if I can find ones that I like! I found and bought 3 so far and that is good for me as I have specific tastes.

You may have noticed that I am having a 21st Mindset Birthday. This means I will be having the mindset of a 21 year old for my birthday and the coming year. I have stuck at 23 for the last 2 years. So I can do; say: wear; think; speak; or act, like a 21 year old. If you want to join me, there are huge advantages to this, as it allows you (and me), to get out of your (and mine), comfort zone even more, and be more unstoppable in your life and business – that’s the quirky magic!!

More posts to come about my 21st Mindset Birthday!!

Write soon and stay quirky.

Birthday Weekend Fun!

For my birthday I had a weekend full of fun. On Sat 23rd of April – day before my official day and also Chestnut’s birthday, I went to Bristol Zoo with a friend and we also saw the Jungle Book in 3D and Bastille Day, an action/thriller film.

On Sat 24th, the official day, my parents came to my home in the morning, to give me my pressies and card; and I opened them, and I also opened my present – the bear and zesty jar from my friend, along with my other 3 cards.

Then I met a different friend at the train station, and we went to the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth. Afterwards, I self-dated and saw Zootropolis – very deep storyline for an animation that brought tears to my eyes, and London has fallen – an action/thriller film. Of course I ate out in Nandos and had popcorn too, on both days.

I had over an hour to wait for the train to go home from Plymouth to Exeter, so the taxi driver dropped me off at a pub/bar near the station and it was very quiet in there. The Assistant Manager and Manager paid for my drinks for me as it was my birthday – 3 pineapple juices! I got back home after midnight so totally maxed out my birthday celebration time and loved every minute of it.

Stay quirky and remember #powerofone

After the aquarium, I rushed to the cinema and saw Mr Peabody and Sherman. Followed by a large popcorn and Robocop.

I ended the night with a Thai meal.

Now it’s back to the business of writing and finishing off my Break through the barriers of redundancy book so I can upload it to Amazon.

Apologies for not commenting much lately. I haven’t forgotten you or the fantastic content you write. I am just extremely busy and need to finish my book. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

I hope you enjoyed the fishy fun. I found it harder to get the fish to pose for me, in comparison to the animals at Paradise Wildlife Park.

Write as soon as I am able to

How are you celebrating being single on Valentines Day? – 26 ideas

Hi everyone

Happy Valentines Day.

To those of you who are in a relationship and taking time to celebrate today, good. Love and life should be celebrated.

To those of you who are single – What are you doing to celebrate being single today?

I am celebrating by going to Bristol today. I am so excited and blessed to be able to spend a day doing whatever I like, when I like, it is amazing and incredibly empowering. If you are single and not doing anything special today, think of something you love to do and do it. Life is for living and you only live once. Every minute that ticks on a clock, is a minute gone by and can’t be got back. Every day should be a day when you do something that makes you feel good or happy. Here are some ideas of what you can do:

1 Watch a favourite movie
2 Go to the cinema
3 Go out for a meal
4 Buy yourself a food treat
5 Go for a massage
6 Read a book just for fun – A guilty pleasure book but without feeling guilty
7 Buy yourself a cake or favourite food treat
8 Have an indoor picnic
9 Have a party
10 Dance around your home to your favourite music
11 Run a bath and put candles around it and use your favourite bubble bath
12 Buy yourself a box of chocolates
13 Buy yourself some flowers or a plant
14 Buy yourself some new clothes
15 Buy yourself some new music
16 Buy yourself your favourite aftershave or perfume or a new one you haven’t tried before
17 Take yourself out for the day
18 Take a mini break
19 Visit the zoo – You can use waterproof garments
20 Visit an aquarium – I am doing this one today
22 Go go-karting
23 Go to an indoor climbing centre
24 Visit a spa
25 Buy yourself any gift you like
26 Write a list of positive things about yourself, what you love about yourself and what makes you happy – Read it daily from now on, believe it and take action on the things that make you happy

Please feel free to add your own.

I love the feeling of magic and being special and I take it upon myself to create that kind of day for me. There is nothing stopping you from doing the same.

I am currently on the train and have already started my celebration with some no added sugar jungle fruit shapes.

I am going to the aquarium in Bristol, to the cinema there, and for two thai meals. People ask me if I feel strange doing things like that by myself, I say, “absolutely not.”

I enjoy making myself happy and you can do the same.

One guy on my Facebook page commented that I am breaking the rules, I replied – “That is rather negative – There are no rules, other than the ones we set for ourselves” – That is the rule I always live by.

Enjoy your special day.
