IT’S TEMPORARY! – POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING!

IT’S TEMPORARY! – POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING! Have you ever felt so ill you feel like you are dying? That is it a catastrophe and your world is ending! But the truth is you are not dying, you have a virus and you will be better again! You have to think to yourself, this is temporary; it will pass, otherwise, what is the alternative if you don’t?

I currently have a virus that has lead to a chest infection. My boss has kindly let me take a day’s holiday this week, along with my two days off, so I can get 3 days of rest! That I need. Of course resting to me, is getting some sleep, but also watching educational videos, writing blog posts, and working out precisely what my future holds and entails, and my destiny – that being, I really do want to create an ebook store full of my own books for your personal and professional development across multiple genres, and also video training courses. All my mind keeps saying to me, is; ‘All I want to do is write’, ‘All I want to do is write’, ‘All I want to do is write”; to the point where it is now making feel ill that I am not doing it enough and not listening as much as I should be to myself. My inner voice is screaming this is what you should be doing right now and forever – so why have I just become in this state? And why don’t I just get on with it?

Because my mind has been considering many options of how to make money online during these past few weeks, in order to provide for my future, as I have to look after myself financially. I have literally been reading up, researching, and attending live webinars and other online training for hours, as I know to make a full-time career out of writing, is one of the toughest roads to ever take; if you are writing from your heart and your own stuff that will also appeal to others! I want to remain true to my authentic, quirky self, while providing books that others need! It can be a dilemma – or is it that I am making it a dilemma?

I keep coming back to my roots of writing because when I think of following in the footsteps of others, buying their programmes, their courses, if it is not to do with writing and the writing I like to do, all my mind keeps saying is – when are you going to have time to write? You can’t not write, to not write actually makes me feel sick now. It’s like I am stretching my writing creativity so thinly by not writing and producing more books when the momentum is there to do it, that it is painful and sore, like a wound. But what to do? As  I have 18 Live and fully functional websites to work on and maintain, how can I look after them, design more T-Shirts that I need to design and still keep writing lots of new stuff! Yes, I said new stuff, because the truth is, since publishing my Twitter book and discovering how well it is selling, sometimes with little or no promotion on my part, it means there is a market for the type of books I want to write – or at least in that genre. It is already outselling my Break Through The Barriers Of Redundancy book that I spent 2 and a half years writing. How long do you think it took me to write my Twitter book and publish it to Amazon Kindle? Well, as I already had some of the content from previously teaching it to my Twitter for Recovery students – 27 days!! Yes, I said 27 days! Is that a miracle or what!! It is far less expensive than my redundancy book to buy, so I need to sell a lot more to get close to even one sale of my redundancy book, but the main thing is, I am getting my name out there as a writer, doing something I love and helping a ton of people in the process.

People don’t understand that writing is a part of my soul that I cannot live without! It is my therapy, my love of my life (guinea pigs are too) and the best of me. It’s helped me through the worst of times and if it was in the form of a person, I would be writing; if it were a being of it’s own; I would be a Sandra Bellamy writing being – which is what I actually am! Okay, so I am glad and grateful for a physical body that I have grown to love and care for and I would never want to be dead, but alive forever- yes, I said forever, if I could, I would – particularly if I didn’t age!

So my destiny is to have lots of Kindle books published and some training courses via my Quirky Books sites and Quirky Academy sites, and a fair few of my others too – it’s a huge challenge for me! I have been getting better at writing and publishing on Kindle, and found that sometimes publishing shorter books can be more beneficial than publishing longer books, both for me and the recipient. However, my new ‘Asexual Perspectives, Love, Life and Sex, ACElebration of Diversity’ book, looks like it is going to be huge, as I have interviewed around 40 asexuals across the globe for it, and one person’s answers is 19 pages long! So I still want to publish longer books where there is a need for it, even though it is mega time-consuming, if it’s going to change lives it will be worth it!

I am thinking about doing a follow up Twitter book, because I think there is a need for it! So much writing to do, so little time, and after all that, being quirky, I still want to learn about other stuff! And there is the head-banging moment, when you realise, you need to keep learning stuff too, in order to write more books, leaving less time for writing, but a bigger brain capacity to take in more information to hopefully write more books! I would say it’s a chicken and egg situation, but rather a book and brain situation! I think this has been one of THE longest posts I had written for a long time, especially about writing and my love of it. This blog is where it all started for me, and whatever happens, this blog will run to the end of my time and hopefully stay around even more! The good thing about writing and publishing non-fiction books on Amazon, is that I will continue to help others even when I am no longer in person to do so, and leave a lasting legacy, that makes life so fulfilling, so satisfying, and so worthwhile.

Until next time my friends, thank you for your continued support, I love you all and think you are incredible and amazing!

If you are interested in my books, I have shared the details down below and have my redundancy book on special offer! I have to stress that this book is not just about redundancy, it teaches you a lot of life skills too!

Until next time, embrace your quirky and each others, and I will write soon

To feel alive – Start living!

Hi everyone

Thanks for all of your kind comments and support during this difficult time of my Grandma’s passing. Her funeral was yesterday and it went well considering it was a funeral. I read my entire poem without stumbling on my words. Being quirky, I made sure it was a funeral with a difference. I went around hugging everyone, including the people carrying the coffin, the guy playing the organ, the Funeral Director, the Vicar and all guests. I even had the Birdie Song playing us out of the crematorium. Me and my Grandma used to dance to that together and do the actions.

I used to suffer with depression and thankfully I have been free of it for about two and a half years. I cured myself, and still maintain a good head through sometimes very quirky, unconventional methods. I am well aware that I have to prevent myself from going back to that dreadful place ever again. I believe life is for living, to the fullest. Although my Grandma has passed, in the rest of my life, I am the happiest I have ever been and so grateful to be living a young life. In my mind, I am getting younger and I love it. I believe in order to feel alive, you must start living. Do things that make you feel fantastic, alive, enthusiastic, excited and passionate, over and over again, and never stop. I live in my own quirky magic bubble and so long as I am in that, life is beautiful.

My Grandma loved living a full and active life. Today is a new month and time for me to start living a new life. What wonderful opportunities will come my way? I wonder? After crying a lot this morning, this is the attitude I decided to take and I went to the cinema to feel alive and enjoy a part of my life in that moment.

In my usual quirky Roving Reporter style, here is my review of Maleficent. It is less that one minute long. Enjoy it and let me know what you think.

I am currently working on reformatting the interior of my Break through the barriers of redundancy book. It would seem that the CreateSpace templates have errors in them. One template I had 5 attempts to reformat and I had to scrap each one. Self publishing is hard but I am determined to publish my book.

Write when I can

Snuggles Joins in Blog Tour Fun!

Hi everyone

In case you missed it, last week I took part in the Blog Tour.

Unfortunately, due to formatting issues with coding in WordPress, my answers to the four Blog Tour questions, were bunched up. Not the sort of layout I usually allow on my blog, or want for you. Here is my attempt to answer the questions again.

Thanks to Carolyn Huges from The Hurt Healer for tagging me, I have the opportunity to share some exclusive insights into my Break through the barriers of the redundancy book, as part of The Blog Tour. As a Freelance Writer Carolyn’s work can be vast, in her blog tour post, I believe she has captured the essence of why her blog and writing are so popular:

“Although there are lots of blogs of a similar genre to mine, I think what makes The Hurt Healer different is the amount of sharing of myself that is included in each post. When you read my blog, you read the work of my authentic self and not just the facts of the subject.”

What am I working on?

I am still working on the final amendments of my book: Break through the barriers of redundancy to get back into work: An A-Z ‘How to’ guide. I keep saying final amendments because I keep finding things to amend, although some of my latest amendments are not needed because the original work is better. That is how I know it is almost ready for publishing. At the moment it is indexed for the 131 A4 pages, but once it’s uploaded to CreateSpace on Amazon, it will be almost twice the number of pages in booklet format and therefore I will need to re-index and repaginate it beforehand. A writer’s work is never done!

How does my work differ to others of its genre?

It is different because it takes a holistic view of redundancy, treating the inner being before treating the outer being. It’s about dealing with the initial grief and depression of redundancy, going back to the roots of what you were born to do, before family and other commitments took priority and finding out what you really want to do with your life and career. It’s about exploring what your dream job would be, how to get it in 6 simple steps, how to work out if self-employment would be right for you or not. Then it deals with the practicalities of getting back into paid employment, the insider secrets of creating an irresistible CV and cover letter that gets results. In a nutshell, it provides a complete system for getting back into work. It covers 26 aspects of redundancy and provides eighty benefits to you, the reader.

It is unique because it combines two genres; the technical know-how of a how-to book, with the simplicity of an A-Z guide. That’s what makes it a quirky book.

Why do I write/create what I do?

I love reading non-fiction, how-to business books, because I can learn so much from them. I discovered that I have a lot of knowledge from both sides of the redundancy fence that would prove invaluable to others. The recruitment side, whilst managing, and the applying for jobs and being interviewed side, whilst redundant. It is from both points of view that I have been able to create a complete A-Z system for breaking down your barriers of redundancy, to get back into work. It is written from my own life experience in order to help others.

How does your writing/creating process work?

As usual, it starts with a creative explosion, a brainstorm if you like. That in this case was for an A-Z of redundancy, which started with the first few letters in posts on my http://www.beatredundancyblues.wordpress.com blog, and I have adapted for the final book. Once I had written an A-Z of redundancy, I then had to go through every letter and write a how-to for it. I wrote the front and back matter after finishing the main contents of the book. It was tricky to get the font size right and to distinguish the headings from the sub headings in the index. To my knowledge, combining an A-Z guide with a How-to book, has not been done before, and it has been a huge challenge for me to combine them into an easy to read, palatable style, but the challenge has been well worth it.

I tagged three others to continue to keep the blog tour going on Monday 19th of May:

Al from http://kattermonran.com

Mike from http://mikesfilmtalk.com.

Rohan from http://rohan7things.wordpress.com.

So far, it’s just Rohan who has been able to answer the questions. Check out Rohan’s Blog Tour answers: http://rohan7things.wordpress.com/2014/05/19/rohans-writing-methods-madness-and-more-blog-tour/

Weekend Edition – Too Old, Stealing Ideas + Great Reads and Writing Tips

Hi everyone

I got back in the early hours of this morning from London, having been to The Business Show at the ExCeL centre, for two days. I heard from some super authors that have had their books published by Wiley, who publishes the Dummies series.

I read this post and felt compelled to share it with you. This is a fantastic post about not being ashamed to read whatever books you like and creating originality out of stories that have been written before, using your own ” mash up“.

Look out for my interview with Author Ian Kane, coming soon to this blog. His new book is called “Rising Storm” and is part of his “Fading Empires” series. You are going to love his book, love his answers and love him.

Live to Write - Write to Live

You’re too old for that.

pin lengleI was in the children’s room of my beloved library earlier this week and was horrified to hear a mom tell her son to put a particular book back because he was “too old” for it. She said, “That’s too easy for you.” I actually winced.

I’m sure this mom was very well-meaning. I’m sure she just wanted to encourage her son to try something a little more challenging. But, you are never – NEVER – too old for any book. I’ve shared it before, but I’m going to share again the wonderful quote from the fabulous Madeleine L’Engle, “You have to write the book that wants to be written. And if the book will be too difficult for grown-ups, then you write it for children.”

I am, by chronological reckoning, a full-fledged adult, but I will never, ever stop reading so-called children’s books. Some…

Exclusive Preview – Break Through The Barriers Of Redundancy Book Blurb

Hi everyone

I am still working on the final edit of my book and it is taking longer than I expected, but it will be worth the wait.

After a short break, I am working back in my day job again, and I start teaching Blogging as an aid to recovery on Monday 24th of February. I had planned to publish my book in February, depending on how long it took to edit it to a standard that I am happy with. Although I have people waiting to buy my book, I won’t compromise on quality, and I know they wouldn’t want me to. It looks likely I will publish it in March rather than February.

I now own the copyright of the book cover illustration and design, although credit still goes to my illustrator Victoria Warby for creating it. I think she has done a fantastic job.

Please note that the entire book cover is copyrighted and will be revealed in the future – For now, I can exclusively reveal the Book Blurb.

What is your writing theme tune for 2014?

Hi everyone

Just a quick update.

Thanks for all of your comments and kind words. Apologies if you are still awaiting a reply. I am tight against a book deadline for my Break through the barriers of the redundancy book, that is 9am on the 20th of January. I will be getting around to your blogs when my book is finished but all of my energy has to be on my book at the moment, otherwise I won’t make my deadline.

My mum is looking after all of my guineapigs whilst I finish my book. I miss them terribly but my hours after my day job have to be used to focus on my book. Getting them back is the best motivation for finishing my book. It’s Daisy and Cinnamon’s birthday on the 19th.

I have gone back to work on part-time hours this week as I am not back to full health. I am still taking 8 tablets a day and now I have a cold/chest problem since going back to work on Tuesday.

Great news – Daisy’s lump was a hair follicle cyst. Not cancer or a tumor. – I am thrilled.

I have had to ban myself from watching most TV. Only one programme allowed each evening so far this week.

I can’t speak to friends much either outside of my day job and certainly I cannot go out anywhere in the evenings.

To keep my energy levels up whilst writing, especially since getting limited amounts of sleep and being ill, I have to listen to dance music almost all of the time.

This is my writing theme tune for 2014.

If you want the original slower version, here is it.

What is your writing theme tune for 2014?

Write after my book is complete

Have you got the guts to run your own writing business?

Hi everyone

I would like to say a huge thank you to all of you, that liked and shared my blog article “Have you got the guts to run your own business” on Sage One. It could just as easily have been called “Have you got the guts to run your own writing business.”

For those of you who are currently unemployed and interesting in starting your own writing business, this article explains how the Enterprise Club Start-up Training Course can help you, by finding out if you have got what it takes to start and run a business. At the end of the course you will be able to decide whether or not you have a viable business model with a business plan that predicts a profit. You can use this business plan to apply for the National Enterprise Allowance. With the National Enterprise Allowance (NEA) you get the opportunity to work with a business mentor and the chance of having a loan of up to £1000. I did this course whilst I was unemployed last year and learnt a lot of valuable information, knowledge and skills, that has helped me on my way to turning my writing into a business.

As you can see from the following screen shot, the article has received good feedback and lots of sharing across social media. In particular I want to give a humungous thank you to Louise from Inspire your business, who took the time to comment on the blog post itself on the Sage One website. Louise, you are awesome and your support is greatly appreciated. For anyone interested in running their own business, Louise’s blog offers inspiration and advice.
