Break Through The Barriers of Redundancy Book Blog Tour Begins!

BREAK THROUGH THE BARRIERS OF REDUNDANCY BLOG BOOK TOUR BEGINS

For those of you who haven’t heard, I am now a published Author.

A gigantic Shout Out of thanks to Al Forbes from http://kattermonran.com for being the first blog stop on my Blog Book Tour, it’s much appreciated.

This book is different to any other redundancy or job-seeking book on the market, because it takes a holistic view of redundancy that is about how to deal with the initial grief and depression that comes with redundancy, and use redundancy as an opportunity for reflection and a time to go back to the roots of who you are and what you were born to do, before all of the ‘noise’ of life got in the way, such as marriage, kids, and mortgage; to discover your dream job and lifestyle, and help you to get it. It also explains how to deal with the practicalities of job-hunting, CV and cover letter writing, and how to answer tough interview questions. It also has a whole chapter devoted to discovering if self-employment would be right for you!

Launch Of Quirky Training and Quirky-Marketing

Hi everyone

Quirky Training In Association with Quirky Academy
Quirky Training, incorporating Quirky-Marketing, produces courses for Quirky Academy and Blog Trainer UK
Quirky-Marketing - Mixing Your Business With Your Pleasure
Quirky-Marketing – Mixing Your Business With Your Pleasure

Apologies for not getting around your blogs much lately, or leaving comments. I have been massively busy. I have two employed jobs, am self employed, and building a whole quirky brand. I now know, my mission in life, is to get everyone to embrace their quirky and be their authentic self, in their life and business; to lead a happy, successful and fulfilling existence.

Since Sunday night, until 4.38am this morning, I have been busy with the creation and launch of Quirky Training and Quirky Marketing, that are two of my new websites. I have had some sleep, but only 45 minutes this morning. I went to bed at 6.15am and got up for work at 7am, to go for an IT session in my teaching job, then after to my day job.

Quirky Training http://www.quirkytraining.com and Quirky-Marketing http://www.quirky-marketing.com form part of My World Of Quirky Organisation, along with others. Quirky Training produces the courses for Quirky Academy, that is my educational hub, and Quirky Marketing is the social media and marketing aspect of Quirky Training. Blog Trainer UK (that is me), creates my own courses and Quirky Training produces them. Also, within my organisation are Quirky Mentoring, Quirky Coaching, beat redundancy blues (beatredundancyblues) and Quirky Books (quirkybooks.) Underpinning all of these, is my Embrace Your Quirky Philosophy, to be your authentic self, mo matter what.

I have still to build websites for Quirky Mentoring, Quirky Coaching, World Of Quirky and finish Embrace Your Quirky.

Embrace Your Quirky and Write soon

Be a Warrior in Your Own Life!

Hi everyone

Thank you deeply for all of your beautiful wishes regarding the death of Snuggles. It’s hugely comforting to know we have been in your thoughts and prayers.

Snow had her second birthday on the 15th of October and I have an awesome video of her, on her birthday, to share with you in a future post. Plus, I still have a ton of Disneyland Paris photos and some videos from there too. Do not miss the video of me screaming on a rollercoaster, it’s hilarious.

Unfortunately, Snow was rushed in for emergency surgery on Monday 27th. She couldn’t eat or drink and I found an abscess on her left cheek. She was cut open and now has a tube through her cheek, that is acting as a drain. My mum is looking after her and she has a checkup tomorrow. Daisy is also going to the vets tomorrow for a lump check.

Be a warrior in your own life, is exactly how I am feeling right now.

As you know, I often think of life events in terms of stories, right now, I see myself as a warrior, protected by a suit of armour. Being knocked down to the floor and getting back up time and time again. Fighting through life’s challenges. Rebuffing, the constant unpleasant surprises snd thinking of the time when I will be in a field of daisies with the sun beaming down on my golden hair and helmet comfortably tucked under my arm.

I still think life is beautiful. I still see its wonder. I try to be mindful of the present, while looking to the future.

3 deaths so far this year. My Grandma, Cinnamon and Snuggles.

Life is a test, be a warrior in your own life and let nothing stop you from feeling its amazing beauty and that it’s fantastic to be alive.

Keep pursuing your dreams, keep moving forward with your life, keep looking to the future and keep fighting to live, survive and thrive.

Be a warrior in your own life and be truly unstoppable.

Embrace your quirky and write soon

Live the quirky life only you were born to lead!

Hi everyone

Every now and then, I post a post from one of my other blogs that I think you will love. Here is my latest post from my beatredundancyblues.wordpress.com blog.

DSC_0337 DSC_0340 DSC_0354 1979618_451634051635641_1464625977_n 10258216_470038096461903_1897375291880183246_n 1509246_461657210633325_1313909136684626680_n

You are very special in your own right.

You do not need to justify the reason for being you to anyone but yourself.

You were born with your own unique and precious gifts.

Don’t listen to other people about how you should lead your life, just listen to your own heart and mind, and go with what you want to do and what feels right for you. I had a life changing moment when I took control of my life, and decided to do just that. Now I embrace every quirky feeling and feature about me, and I wouldn’t change me for the world.

I used to suffer with depression. I didn’t like my life, my circumstances or myself. There have been two major significant breakthroughs in my life. The first was when I was made redundant for the second time in my life, in 2009. This was when I first discovered my ultimate purpose in life. To write, and to help others, particularly people who have been made redundant, to get back into work. It was then that I decided I would become a self-employed writer and businesswoman. Despite the fact, that at the time, my own father didn’t believe I could do it. You can read more about this in my new Break through the barriers of redundancy book; that will be available to buy on Amazon.

My second major significant breakthrough, was in 2012, when I took a year out of work, took control over my life, starting making a lot of my own decisions, and did a ton of courses of my choosing.

In that year, I got my PTTLS level 4 teacher/trainer qualification. That I now use to teach Blogging as an aid to recovery – How to start a WordPress.com blog, for the Recovery Learning Community. That is part of the NHS. I also got an Information, Advice and Guidance Diploma Level 4. I did 5 Adobe courses and attended my first business seminars in London. All of these together, were life changing, because I felt empowered to be happy being me and to pursue my own goals, ambitions and dreams. To believe in myself and know that whatever I set my mind to, I can accomplish. I made a lot of changes to myself, that I needed to make me happy. I realised how awesome it was to have an intelligent, quirky, creative mind. I became happy to be in my own company for the first time in my life, and I realised that my life would never be boring because I had me. I learned to love myself, who I am, and what I was born to be. No longer worrying about what others think, and wrapping myself in my quirky bubble for eternity.

My one piece of advice for you, if you are not already doing so; is to embrace your quirky, and to lead the quirky life that only you were born to lead. That’s what I do now and I am the happiest I have ever been.

My motto ’embrace your quirky’ is a system and philosophy, of a different way of life to the norm. That allows you to be your authentic self, and achieve greatness in your life, so you can become truly unstoppable. You can expect more posts about this, and all things quirky from me, in the future.

Until next time –
Embrace your quirky, stay strong, and keep believing in you.

When is it good not to think?

Hi everyone

I have so much to tell you.

I am back from my trip to the Success Seminar in London. While I was up there, I also visited London Zoo, I saw the film Anomaly and I went to the Digital Revolution Exhibition, that blew my mind.

On the day I came back, I had 4 hours sleep, then taught the Introduction to blogging course. I took so many photos and that much video footage of the Digital Revolution Exhibition, that my phone stopped working and I couldn’t call or do anything with my phone, until I got it fixed in the EE shop after teaching on Monday 7th.

On Tuesday 8th, I had an admin day. I also cleaned, tidied and cleared out some bottles of stuff from underneath my kitchen sink.

I have been working in my day job every day since, and trying to catch up with social media, emails and blogging.

As you know, I am a deep thinker and my brain never stops thinking. Sometimes it’s good not to think. I have so much to do that if I sat down and did the sensible thing of writing everything down that I have to, it would overwhelm me. Yes, I make written lists of things to do and set myself tasks and goals each day, but if I become too rigid and ‘work-like’ with everything I have to do, it doesn’t feel good. Instead of enjoying what I do, the opposite happens and I become unproductive. Yes, I have an overview of what must be done, but I have to do it the quirky way. If I schedule too much, it becomes a chore and that shows. Does that happen to you?

Things I need to do:

  • I have to create a new website for http://www.beatredundancyblues.com as my web host no longer services RV Sitebuilder that I used to build it. I have been unable to access my admin panel for at least a couple of months and now I can get into it, I can’t make any amendments due to constant Java script errors. This site is currently more popular than my http:// http://www.beatredundancyblues.co.uk site that is built using WordPress. I have no choice but to change it.
  • After making a few amendments to my Break through the barriers of redundancy book, I need to re-index and paginate it, within the interior CreateSpace template.
  • After being asked by businesses about training staff in blogging, I thought it best to set up a website to build a professional brand for my blog training. I have bought the domain name http://www.BlogTrainer.co.uk and have yet to build the site. I have a new @blogtrainerUK Twitter account and now need to grow my followers. Thanks to those of you who have already joined me on that account.

I haven’t forgotten that I still have blog awards to officially accept in future posts. Thanks to all of you who have given me awards. I very much appreciate them.

I managed to track down my English teacher from college. She edits manuscripts. I sent her a copy of my Break through the barriers of redundancy book manuscript so she could give it a quick scan. Her feedback was encouraging. She said it’s interesting, well thought out and there are not many books like it on the market. I was thrilled with those comments. As she is very critical, I know it must be a good book.

Because my Break through the barriers of redundancy book advertises my http://www.beatredundancyblues.com site on the front cover, updating that site, must be a priority.

I have to not think too much and just get on with it.

When would not thinking, be good for you?

Write when I can

What are the 4 Key ingredients for a successful interview?

Hi everyone

As you may or may not know, I help people who are redundant to get back into work through my websites http://www.beatredundancyblues.com and http://www.beatredundancyblues.co.uk and my other blog http://www.beatredundancyblues.wordpress.com

I currently teach Blogging as an aid to recovery for the Recovery Learning Community, for the NHS, as a self-employed person. Tomorrow I have an interview to work for the NHS Staff Bank as an employed person. This means I will have two employed jobs and still be self-employed. In effect, I am applying for my own job, but as an employed person. I had to fill out a 15 page application form and provide 12 pages of supporting information. It took me about a week and a half to do this because of  working at my full-time day job.

There are 4 key ingredients to having a successful interview, the 4 Ps as I call them. Learn what they are in this video.

If you found this video helpful and you would like to see more videos you can subscribe to my YouTube quirkybooksTV channel by going to http://www.youtube.com/user/quirkybooksTV and hitting the subscribe button. I have 6 subscribers so far, 5 of whom are followers of this blog, thanks so much to Al, Ste, Mike, Mr Lattimer and Ralph. You rock!

Don’t worry if video is not your thing, I will still be writing lots of posts and sharing other bloggers’ fantastic posts.

Don’t miss my written post on Monday 26th of May, I have a treat in store for you, an Author interview with Ian Kane.

Write soon
