Have you ever wondered what a published Author does with their day? What a day in the life of an Author looks like? What it entails? If so, then this video is for you! I specialise in non-fiction books for quirky niches, and have my own publishing imprint called Quirky Books! My speciality is writing books about Asexuality and being Asexual. I am asexual myself and a hugely romantic one at that. Asexuality is a sexual orientation that is the lack of sexual attraction. It’s barely unheard of and deeply misunderstood. I am romantically attracted to guys only, but not sexually.
I am currently working on my second book for asexuals (Asexual Guide To Sex – for those asexuals who are considering trying sex for the first time, and considering all the options as to whether it’s right for them or not), and I did this live stream on my Asexual channel www.youtube.com/asexualisemyasexuallife to explain what I do with my day. I am also currently in the middle of getting my Fibromyalgia Self-help Handbook ready for print – It’s out in Kindle already and I have interest already in my third book for asexuals, which I haven’t yet started. I have a fourth book for asexuals planned too, with more to come.
As if that wasn’t enough, I also have other exciting projects I am working on. I am letting go of some of my domains and websites that I have had for some time, to make way for new and exciting business opportunities which you won’t want to miss!
If you have got any comments or questions about being an Author, let me know in the comments below and I will do my best to help you.

It also has analytics built into it and you can add variations to each post for different platforms. It can connect to multiple social media platforms at once. I use this personally myself and have never found a better social media auto-posting tool than this one. It has literally saved me hundreds of hours of work. If you want it to share your posts from your blogs automatically and your YouTube videos, you just add your RSS feeds for those and away you go, on autopilot. Let me know how many of these 21 reasons why I love being a writer, you can relate to, in the comments below!
Your imagination is brought to life!
When writing a fiction book, the characters speak to you and tell you how to write their story! (True or true?)
It’s exciting to see your ideas come to life.
When momentum builds and you can’t stop writing, it’s so euphoric!
I just love the act of writing, it feels like I am in ecstasy when I do it.
Writing feels like a part of my soul I never want to be without, it’s central to my core being.
It stops and prevents boredom.
I feel like my books are my best friends, they know all my secrets, my personal thoughts and feelings, and they don’t judge me; they just let me flow and be me, as I am, in the moment.
My books are my companions on a dark and gloomy day, and also a spark of light, that lightens the way.
Writing is a gift that I am proud to say I have, and it makes me feel amazing!
Writing is my life purpose 100%, it’s the number 1 thing in my life that gives me 100% satisfaction.
Writing changes people’s lives.
Writing a book leaves a lasting legacy, long after you have gone from this earth in the human form you are at present. (Seeing your book in a future life could be a hugely surreal experience if you believe in reincarnation, and a great story in and of itself. I have thought about writing that one myself but as I specialise in mostly non-fiction, I prefer to stick to what I enjoy writing the most, but if you are looking for a writing prompt, then you can grab this one with my compliments!)
I love owning my own publishing imprint of Quirky Books – it was a dream since I started writing this blog over 8 years ago. This means any books published under my own imprint can be ordered in shops and found in some UK libraries, including the British Library, as I have my own ISBN numbers.
Writing makes me feel good, about myself; about my life; and in general I am so much happier when I am writing than when I am not. When I don’t write, it feels like something is missing from my life and my soul is not fulfilled.
Writing feels so good and puts me in a good mood, it makes me feel more like my life is worth living.
Writing is extremely therapeutic, it purges the soul and allows you to get all of your feelings and emotions out in a constructive manner.
Being a writer allows you to be an observer of life like no other. You see the world completely differently to anyone else.
There is no limit to how many books you can write and how many lives you can change as a result.
Writing it the most powerful communication tool you can use to change the world. Even if you learn something on a YouTube video; other video; or from listening to a person speak, it’s the act of writing that learning out, that instills the learning into the subconscious mind. It’s only through changing patterns in the subconscious mind, that we can begin to free ourselves of the social and parental conditioning that we have grown accustom to.

Until next time, as always, stay quirky and write really soon
You’ve mostly likely heard that to stay motivated and productive, it’s super important to write your successes down in a diary or journal. If you have never heard of this before it’s a great technique for building momentum, positivity, and productivity. An alternative to this is a Success Jar, this is a jar which you fill with your successes instead of putting then into a diary – or you can do both if you so wish.
Not everyone has the time to sit down and write in a diary or journal, and not everyone wants to. But writing on a notelet or tearing off a piece of paper, and writing your successes on it, then sticking it in your Success Jar, is a powerful way of acknowledging your successes and make you feel great – without formally sitting down to write, and without stressing yourself out over taking time out of your day when it is so mega busy.
In this video – which I recorded as a Live Stream so the sound is not perfect in it, I explain in detail what a Success Jar is, and show you two of mine from last year.
I hope this helps you? I would love to know your thoughts about it? Please comment below!
Are you use anything similar, and if so, how is that working out for you? Please let me know in the comments section below, as I love to read you!
Until next time, embrace your quirky and write soon
Are you scared of writing? Can the simple act of writing makes us look deeper and that scares us? Or are we afraid of something else?
I love this interesting TedX Talk, I have never been scared of writing, I have always loved writing and need to do more of it! But this is an extremely thought-provoking TedX Talk, I can definitely relate to the monkey mind! What about you?
Watch this TedX Talk with Nicoletta Demetriou to find out how writing can bring you closer to yourself!
In this TedX Talk Ryan Gattis speaks about how a Gang Lord changed his writing career!
From the TedX description on the channel:
“When a gang lord told novelist Ryan Gattis to cut to the chase, he did. Surprising to the Chapman University professor was that the command was also a gift that released his creativity and helped guide him to the completion of his acclaimed novel about the Los Angeles riots of 1992, All Involved: A Novel of the 1992 L.A. Riots.”
