Disneyland Paris Quirky Writing Prompts

Hi everyone

To those of you who enjoy my Quirky Weekly Wednesday Writing Prompts and wondered has happened to them, they will be back.

As I have a ton of photos from my Disneyland Paris/London holiday to share with you, as well as video footage, I will be predominantly posting posts about those for at least the next couple of weeks.

I am pleased to say that Snuggles has improved in health and seems to be healing. I am praying it stays that way. Thanks to every one of you who has sent their well wishes. After Cinnamon was suddenly severely sick and passed away before my holiday, it’s been an intense and emotionally difficult time for me. Snuggles is my furry kid and furry soulmate. It’s her 3rd birthday tomorrow, and she has plenty of potential years ahead of her. I have her birthday party stuff ready for tomorrow evening when I see her.

To give you a taste of Disneyland Paris. Here are some quirky Disneyland Paris writing prompts to wet your appetite.

Who needs a massage?

Hi everyone

I am back from my holiday in Disneyland Paris and London. I had the time of my life and have a ton of great photos and a few videos to share with you. Including a video of the Disney Dreams show and the most amazing rollercoaster screaming video ever – As it’s got me in it, I am a bit biased but it is hilarious. I can’t help but laughed at myself.

But firstly; who needs a massage?
Snuggles does. Snuggles has been severely ill whilst I was on holiday, and since I got back. She had a second operation on her teeth today. A tooth problem has given her Bloat, that meant her tummy swelled with gas from not eating and digesting food properly. She has been in a life or death situation. She is still at risk. I read on the internet that a massager can help with Bloat. So I bought her a HoMedics Shiatsu massage cushion to ease her pain, and get things moving along the gut. It seems to have been working – notice the plops, and helping to ease her pain as she can chill out on it. It was £50 well spent. I have always wanted one myself, but felt it was too expensive for me. Nothing is too expensive for my Snugs. She is my best friend and I need her to make a full recovery and live. Her third birthday is this Sunday 12th of October. I have been staying at my Parent’s with her. My mum is doing an amazing job of syringe feeding her and looking after her, and she will continue to do so while I return to my day job tomorrow.

I went on a mad shopping spree in Disneyland Paris, and bought a lot of stuff for myself, including this awesome top.

What quirky life are you born to lead?

Hi everyone

Once in a while I share a post with you on this blog, that I think you will be interested in from my www.beatredundancyblues.wordpress.com blog.

This is today’s post:

You Have a Way About You – Your Own Quirky Way

quirky Sandra Bellamy

You have a way about you, that is unique to you, and your way of being. It’s your own quirky way, no one else’s.

Don’t worry about conforming and fitting in, be concerned with your own inner being and who you are.

If this is new territory to you, to stand proudly of yourself; it may be difficult at first because you are asserting your right to be an individual and to be treated as such.

To remain strong when sometimes family, friends and even loved ones are pulling you in their direction, takes guts, willpower and determination. This is especially true if you have recently experienced a loss, such as your job.

However, when you have lost something, is the best time to find you. To find your inner being, the roots of your tree, and embed them in the earth. You; your thoughts, your actions, can be controlled by you. In a time when everything else may feel out of control, this can be extremely good for you.

When you assert yourself and others aren’t used to it and don’t like it; if they love you for who you are, they will still love you, care about you, talk to you and be friends with you. They will either get used to the new you and accept it, or they have the right to go their own way. If they go their own way, remember, you have a way with you, that is called your way for a reason. You are your own person. It’s better to be yourself than live as others would have you live and never be truly happy.

Whatever your background, culture, race, colour, religion, sexual orientation or other, you need to be true to you.

I communicate with people from around the globe. I see the difference between people who are blending in with their society’s expectations, their family traditions and cultural expectations, when it’s not what they truly want for themselves. They sacrifice their own needs for others; even to the point where they can’t be themselves or with the ones they love, forever. So they settle for what they can get or what they get given. They think they have no choice, but there is always a choice. Compare that to those seemingly in a minority, who come out as themselves; go their own way, but feel an inner contentment and peace, after weathering the storm. They choose to start their own life, how they choose to be, and feel alive and sometimes reborn because of it.

I love my parents dearly, but I am extremely different to them. For years I wanted their approval of what I did, of what I wanted, and to be accepted for being me. I break family traditions, conventions and some expectations. It is hard, but the more I am strong and go my own way, the more they seem to understand the real me and accept it. Whether they do or they don’t, I have a quirky way about me, that’s my own. I am my authentic self, and I like me just the way I am.

That’s why you were born as you. You were given your own brain, to think, your own body to look after, your own eyes to view the world; your own ears to listen and your own voice to speak. The way you sense the world around you, will never be identical to another. You have a way about you. Don’t turn the other way, away from yourself, your needs, wants and desires, go and get them.

What quirky life are you born to lead?

What do you think about my new profile pic?

Hi everyone

As I have longer hair, I thought it important to update my profile picture with a new and current photo, across my social media. I tried to get a balance of a professional, smart and approachable look. What do you think? Do you feel it’s suitable? Any changes needed?

I still have to update some more profiles and there will be a few places where you may see the previous photo. On the whole it will be this one you will see from now on.

When are you going to hibernate?

Hi everyone

I am now in hibernating mode to finish my Break through the barriers of redundancy book.

image

I finished re-working and amending the Preface and Introduction today. I now have a total of 9 days off from my day job, and go back to work on Wednesday 2nd of April. I am determined to finish my book by then. I went out shopping for food and Mothers Day presents today. Now it’s time to batten down the hatches and have what I call ‘cave days’. I will be less active in the blogosphere until the 3rd of April.

When are you next hibernating?

Ps. I already miss you all. Xx

Things that go Wheek in the night!

Hi everyone

Just a quick post to let you know I finally got a new phone, plus compensation in the form of credit to my account. Here is a photo I just took on it.

Daisy and Cinnamon.

I don’t owe HMRC any money and my boss has paid me my wages owed from weeks ago, plus the expenses. Although the expenses have been given to me at an hourly rate and I have been taxed on them when I shouldn’t have.

I was told by HMRC that they estimate the figures when there is a gap in someone’s records. (Dare I say, they made them up. So beware. )

Tommorow is my last day of teaching Blogging as an aid to recovery for this term. I Shall miss it. Thanks to all of you who showed my blogging students some love, by Liking their page or post.

I am still working on the final edit of my Break through the barriers of redundancy book. If something is not quite right, it has to be changed and improved before going to print.

When does a reality show become your own reality?

Hi everyone

When does a reality show become your own reality? – When you feel like you are living in one. Do you ever get that feeling?

I spend so much of my life, reading, watching and writing about stories, that I end up feeling like my own life story is being played out in front of me, and that I am watching it, yet I am in it. It’s very surreal. I feel, that in reality, I am in my own reality show and that my eyes are the camera. Quirky, I know.

There is always some sort of drama going on in my life, and I often feel that my life is like a soap opera. Maybe it should be made into a soap opera – Hey! You heard it here first. On a plus side, I have got loads to pack into a series of autobiographies and that always bodes well when you are a writer.

To give you the highs and lows over the last week or so, here goes:

Daisy and Cinnamon went to the vets for a lump and mite check. Their lumps are fine at the moment and one of Daisy’s has vanished. I got charged less than I thought I would. Although the vet couldn’t find any mites, they have a spot on treatment to use for two weeks.

I received a cheque as compensation for an accident I had in 2011. As a result, I have been asked to be featured in the USDAW magazine about it. If and when it happens, I will let you know.

The preview of my Break through the barriers of redundancy book blurb, has been well received, and more people have shown an interest in buying it. I am still in the process of editing it at the moment. That is taking longer than I had hoped, because I am having to fit it in around my day job, my teaching job, and deal with other issues, such as technical difficulties and financial problems.

To summarise the technical problems, both my Mac and phone have not been working correctly. My blog would not load properly on my Mac, and a snail’s pace would have been quicker than the speed at which it was loading web pages. Some pages it refused to load at all. My phone was taking an age to load and sometimes it wouldn’t load at all. It switched itself off. At times it would not let me charge it and switch it on at the same time. Apologies for all of the comments that I haven’t had chance to reply to yet because of this. I took action and installed a new router and upgraded my Mac overnight to the Mavericks operating system. This took over 15 hours because I live in a gray area where internet speed is concerned, and it was still in the process of upgrading the next day. This is not good when I have to manage 3 websites (and one under construction), 3 blogs, 3 Facebook Pages, 3 Twitter accounts, a LinkedIn account, and a Google+ and YouTube account. I am still having some problems with my phone and I am getting a new one on Tuesday.

I recently got invited to a Google+ Hangout about my book, with Wiley published Author, Paul Lancaster. Who works for Sage One accountancy company. This is due to take place the week before my book is published and will be a 30 minute interview. I am so excited, watch this space for further details.

Yesterday I received a bill from HMRC saying I owe them £564.60 in unpaid taxes for 2011-2012 and 2013-2013 tax years. I believe this to be incorrect, so I have had to spend time getting the necessary documentation together to prove it, including my P60s and P45s, and type a letter to them. Other financial difficulties include the fact that I am still owed 3 hours for my basic wage in my day job, from 3 weeks ago, and some expenses from weeks ago, that I keep having to chase. I have been opted into the company pension scheme, when I have requested to opt out, and money is still being taken out of my wages for it. This is another thing I have to keep chasing.

The day before I got the letter from HMRC, I booked to go to the Business Showcase South West event in Bristol, and to the Only Colston event, following that, in the evening. Both promise to be fantastic networking opportunites and take place on April the 8th to the 9th.

Teaching Blogging as an aid to recovery went very well last week and I am optimistic that it will be just as enjoyable tomorrow.

You may have guessed that I don’t get much sleep. Currently I am getting on average about five and a half hours sleep a night. I have to watch my health and do need to get some more sleep but I have so much deal with, my guineapigs to clean every night, and my book to write, that it’s hard to find time to fit sleep in. I also have to try to fit some time in for fun as it’s essential for relaxation and motivation.

One of my favourite genres is drama and my life is full of it, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Am I living in my own reality show? I will leave that question to your imagination.

Thank you to everyone who has nominated me for a blog award recently and in the last few months. I will get around to officially accepting them, although I won’t be able to do that this month. I really appreciate you taking the time to read my blog and nominate me. I also appreciate everyone who stops by, who comments or Likes my posts.

As I am still editing my book inbetween everything else that is going on, and I have people waiting to buy it, I am unfortunately still not able to visit or comment on many blogs at the moment and I am very sorry for that.

I will write when I am able to

Exclusive Preview – Break Through The Barriers Of Redundancy Book Blurb

Hi everyone

I am still working on the final edit of my book and it is taking longer than I expected, but it will be worth the wait.

After a short break, I am working back in my day job again, and I start teaching Blogging as an aid to recovery on Monday 24th of February. I had planned to publish my book in February, depending on how long it took to edit it to a standard that I am happy with. Although I have people waiting to buy my book, I won’t compromise on quality, and I know they wouldn’t want me to. It looks likely I will publish it in March rather than February.

I now own the copyright of the book cover illustration and design, although credit still goes to my illustrator Victoria Warby for creating it. I think she has done a fantastic job.

Please note that the entire book cover is copyrighted and will be revealed in the future – For now, I can exclusively reveal the Book Blurb.

Fishy fun

Hi everyone

I celebrated being single on Valentines Day, with a trip to Bristol.

First stop was the aquarium.

After the aquarium, I rushed to the cinema and saw Mr Peabody and Sherman. Followed by a large popcorn and Robocop.

I ended the night with a Thai meal.

Now it’s back to the business of writing and finishing off my Break through the barriers of redundancy book so I can upload it to Amazon.

Apologies for not commenting much lately. I haven’t forgotten you or the fantastic content you write. I am just extremely busy and need to finish my book. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

I hope you enjoyed the fishy fun. I found it harder to get the fish to pose for me, in comparison to the animals at Paradise Wildlife Park.

Write as soon as I am able to
