Be a Warrior in Your Own Life!

Hi everyone

Thank you deeply for all of your beautiful wishes regarding the death of Snuggles. It’s hugely comforting to know we have been in your thoughts and prayers.

Snow had her second birthday on the 15th of October and I have an awesome video of her, on her birthday, to share with you in a future post. Plus, I still have a ton of Disneyland Paris photos and some videos from there too. Do not miss the video of me screaming on a rollercoaster, it’s hilarious.

Unfortunately, Snow was rushed in for emergency surgery on Monday 27th. She couldn’t eat or drink and I found an abscess on her left cheek. She was cut open and now has a tube through her cheek, that is acting as a drain. My mum is looking after her and she has a checkup tomorrow. Daisy is also going to the vets tomorrow for a lump check.

Be a warrior in your own life, is exactly how I am feeling right now.

As you know, I often think of life events in terms of stories, right now, I see myself as a warrior, protected by a suit of armour. Being knocked down to the floor and getting back up time and time again. Fighting through life’s challenges. Rebuffing, the constant unpleasant surprises snd thinking of the time when I will be in a field of daisies with the sun beaming down on my golden hair and helmet comfortably tucked under my arm.

I still think life is beautiful. I still see its wonder. I try to be mindful of the present, while looking to the future.

3 deaths so far this year. My Grandma, Cinnamon and Snuggles.

Life is a test, be a warrior in your own life and let nothing stop you from feeling its amazing beauty and that it’s fantastic to be alive.

Keep pursuing your dreams, keep moving forward with your life, keep looking to the future and keep fighting to live, survive and thrive.

Be a warrior in your own life and be truly unstoppable.

Who Wants to Join The Piggie Party? – Snuggles’s 3rd Birthday!

Hi everyone

image

I am pleased to report that Snuggles is recovering from her Bloat/Gastritis/Gut Stasis, life or death illlness. A huge thanks to my mum, for tirelessly nursing and syringe feeding her. She still continues to do so. I will always be eternally grateful to my mum for saving Snuggles’s life, and the fact she was alive for her third birthday party, on Sunday 12th of October.

Unleash your inner child! – How do you unleash yours?

Hi everyone

Every now and again, I post a post from my www.beatredundancyblues.wordpress.com blog, that I think may be of interest to you, so here it is.

Disneyland Paris
Disneyland Paris, Minnie Mouse.

Many a time I hear people saying, I am too old for this or that. Why?

I hear people say I can’t do that now, but I used to do that when I was younger. What’s stopping them from doing it now?

People say I did that, but now I am a grown up. Like not doing a specific thing, makes you grown up, it doesn’t. Being grown up, means different things to different people. Being grown up, in the real sense, means you have physically grown in some way. ‘Grown up’ is a concept and a state of mind.

However, being grown up also comes with stereotypes of what society generally dictates, is acceptable to do, at a certain age.
Being quirky, and embracing my own quirky, you can imagine that I break and defy most of these and I have no shame in doing so.

Having had counselling in the past for depression, I learnt a little about the concept of the inner child and parent within me. At the time, I didn’t really fully grasp the concept. It was after freeing myself from depression, with no medication, and doing a lot to help myself, that I began to understand how these played a vital role in my recovery. Nowadays, the parent and child roles within me, are crucial in maintaining my own mental health and wellbeing each and every day, so as not to fall back into a depressive state.

The parent within me, loves me and nutures me. It gives me positive self talk. It gives me comfort, hope, support and reasoning. If I ever feel down, it lets me know that things will improve and get better. It’s always there in the background should I need it.

The child within me, is no longer just within me, it is me, and I Iove it. It allows my creative mind to be unleashed, to think for itself, to be free flowing and to guide, lead and tell me what to do next. It does this in the most profound and magical way and I am blessed. It’s great for writing, coming up with creative solutions and living a quirky life that is rich with diversity, rewarding and fulfilling.

I encourage you to unleash your inner child. To let go of your inhibitions that stop you from thinking freely and creatively, and that imprison your mind.

Young children try new things, they want to do what pleases them. They like to explore new things. They express themselves freely in the moment, without worrying about what other’s think. They are a bundle of energy and life. If someone tells them they can’t do something, they want to defy the odds, go their own way and just do it. By finding and using these inner child attributes as an adult, there are no limits to what you can accomplish in your life.

By unleashing your inner child, it will free you from the restrictive thoughts and limiting beliefs of your own mindset. This will set you free on the path to success in every aspect of your life. You can be your authentic self. You can be truly unstoppable.

In my past life, as I refer to it, I was old before my time. Now, although I am older in birth certificate age, I am younger, and the authentic quirky me, who I was always born and meant to be. My time for living a young, quirky life, is now. I have unleashed my inner child. How have you unleashed yours?

How do you unleash your inner child?

Write soon and embrace your quirky.

Disneyland Paris Quirky Writing Prompts

Hi everyone

To those of you who enjoy my Quirky Weekly Wednesday Writing Prompts and wondered has happened to them, they will be back.

As I have a ton of photos from my Disneyland Paris/London holiday to share with you, as well as video footage, I will be predominantly posting posts about those for at least the next couple of weeks.

I am pleased to say that Snuggles has improved in health and seems to be healing. I am praying it stays that way. Thanks to every one of you who has sent their well wishes. After Cinnamon was suddenly severely sick and passed away before my holiday, it’s been an intense and emotionally difficult time for me. Snuggles is my furry kid and furry soulmate. It’s her 3rd birthday tomorrow, and she has plenty of potential years ahead of her. I have her birthday party stuff ready for tomorrow evening when I see her.

To give you a taste of Disneyland Paris. Here are some quirky Disneyland Paris writing prompts to wet your appetite.

What quirky life are you born to lead?

Hi everyone

Once in a while I share a post with you on this blog, that I think you will be interested in from my www.beatredundancyblues.wordpress.com blog.

This is today’s post:

You Have a Way About You – Your Own Quirky Way

quirky Sandra Bellamy

You have a way about you, that is unique to you, and your way of being. It’s your own quirky way, no one else’s.

Don’t worry about conforming and fitting in, be concerned with your own inner being and who you are.

If this is new territory to you, to stand proudly of yourself; it may be difficult at first because you are asserting your right to be an individual and to be treated as such.

To remain strong when sometimes family, friends and even loved ones are pulling you in their direction, takes guts, willpower and determination. This is especially true if you have recently experienced a loss, such as your job.

However, when you have lost something, is the best time to find you. To find your inner being, the roots of your tree, and embed them in the earth. You; your thoughts, your actions, can be controlled by you. In a time when everything else may feel out of control, this can be extremely good for you.

When you assert yourself and others aren’t used to it and don’t like it; if they love you for who you are, they will still love you, care about you, talk to you and be friends with you. They will either get used to the new you and accept it, or they have the right to go their own way. If they go their own way, remember, you have a way with you, that is called your way for a reason. You are your own person. It’s better to be yourself than live as others would have you live and never be truly happy.

Whatever your background, culture, race, colour, religion, sexual orientation or other, you need to be true to you.

I communicate with people from around the globe. I see the difference between people who are blending in with their society’s expectations, their family traditions and cultural expectations, when it’s not what they truly want for themselves. They sacrifice their own needs for others; even to the point where they can’t be themselves or with the ones they love, forever. So they settle for what they can get or what they get given. They think they have no choice, but there is always a choice. Compare that to those seemingly in a minority, who come out as themselves; go their own way, but feel an inner contentment and peace, after weathering the storm. They choose to start their own life, how they choose to be, and feel alive and sometimes reborn because of it.

I love my parents dearly, but I am extremely different to them. For years I wanted their approval of what I did, of what I wanted, and to be accepted for being me. I break family traditions, conventions and some expectations. It is hard, but the more I am strong and go my own way, the more they seem to understand the real me and accept it. Whether they do or they don’t, I have a quirky way about me, that’s my own. I am my authentic self, and I like me just the way I am.

That’s why you were born as you. You were given your own brain, to think, your own body to look after, your own eyes to view the world; your own ears to listen and your own voice to speak. The way you sense the world around you, will never be identical to another. You have a way about you. Don’t turn the other way, away from yourself, your needs, wants and desires, go and get them.

What quirky life are you born to lead?

Looking forward to hearing your replies.

Why it’s Important to Date Yourself!

Hi everyone

image

image

Tonight I am going on a date with myself.

After work, I am going for a meal in Nandos and then the cinema, with healthy popcorn to eat.

It’s important to date yourself, to reconnect with your inner being and the essence of who you are.

When we have relationships with others; whether that is with family, friends or loved ones, it can be amazing, and you can gain a lot through interaction and spending time with each other. You can also lose yourself if you don’t take action to spend time with yourself doing what you love and what were born to do. If you lose yourself, you can feel disorientated, surreal, and like you are living through others. You could be in effect be killing your own personality off in the process, and losing your quirky self. This can transpire into anxiety, nervousness or even panic, which will then affect your relationships.

When sharing activities with others, such as going to the cinema, a pub or a club, you need to consider what they want to watch and where they want to go too. There is a sense of caring and nuturing about those around you, and to be caring and thoughtful, is a beautiful thing. However, sometimes it’s good just to go somewhere on your own and do whatever you want, whenever you want. To feel free and be uncompromised. To strip it back to the bear essentials of what is true to you. To be your naked, quirky self. Once you reignite or reinforce your passion and love for yourself, it allows others to love you more.

If you are worried about taking time out to date yourself, because of what others may think or feel, just explain to them what’s going on, and that you need some quality ‘you’ time to bond with yourself. That it doesn’t mean you care, like, or love them any less. You need to feel stronger in yourself, to be able to give your best to them. So long as you are communicating it in a way that will enhance your relationship with them, and they don’t feel you are cutting them off, then why should they mind.

Another thing you can do, is to set ‘special’ time aside for them, after your date with yourself. So in effect, you are giving them some bonding time with you to look forward to, and rewarding their understanding of dating yourself.

If you are in a relationship and you both love dating yourself, you may be able to co-ordinate your ‘you’ time, so you are both dating yourself at the same time. Thereby taking less time out of your together time. Similarly, if one of you is with their friends and family, that is a great opportunity to date yourself, providing you haven’t got any outstanding things to do, that would stress you out if they didn’t get done.

Whatever you decide to do, spending quality dating time with yourself is a must. Even if you have got 55,000 tasks to do. It’s essential for your own happiness, health and wellbeing. So go and enjoy it and have fun.

How do you date yourself?

Live the quirky life only you were born to lead!

Hi everyone

Every now and then, I post a post from one of my other blogs that I think you will love. Here is my latest post from my beatredundancyblues.wordpress.com blog.

DSC_0337 DSC_0340 DSC_0354 1979618_451634051635641_1464625977_n 10258216_470038096461903_1897375291880183246_n 1509246_461657210633325_1313909136684626680_n

You are very special in your own right.

You do not need to justify the reason for being you to anyone but yourself.

You were born with your own unique and precious gifts.

Don’t listen to other people about how you should lead your life, just listen to your own heart and mind, and go with what you want to do and what feels right for you. I had a life changing moment when I took control of my life, and decided to do just that. Now I embrace every quirky feeling and feature about me, and I wouldn’t change me for the world.

I used to suffer with depression. I didn’t like my life, my circumstances or myself. There have been two major significant breakthroughs in my life. The first was when I was made redundant for the second time in my life, in 2009. This was when I first discovered my ultimate purpose in life. To write, and to help others, particularly people who have been made redundant, to get back into work. It was then that I decided I would become a self-employed writer and businesswoman. Despite the fact, that at the time, my own father didn’t believe I could do it. You can read more about this in my new Break through the barriers of redundancy book; that will be available to buy on Amazon.

My second major significant breakthrough, was in 2012, when I took a year out of work, took control over my life, starting making a lot of my own decisions, and did a ton of courses of my choosing.

In that year, I got my PTTLS level 4 teacher/trainer qualification. That I now use to teach Blogging as an aid to recovery – How to start a WordPress.com blog, for the Recovery Learning Community. That is part of the NHS. I also got an Information, Advice and Guidance Diploma Level 4. I did 5 Adobe courses and attended my first business seminars in London. All of these together, were life changing, because I felt empowered to be happy being me and to pursue my own goals, ambitions and dreams. To believe in myself and know that whatever I set my mind to, I can accomplish. I made a lot of changes to myself, that I needed to make me happy. I realised how awesome it was to have an intelligent, quirky, creative mind. I became happy to be in my own company for the first time in my life, and I realised that my life would never be boring because I had me. I learned to love myself, who I am, and what I was born to be. No longer worrying about what others think, and wrapping myself in my quirky bubble for eternity.

My one piece of advice for you, if you are not already doing so; is to embrace your quirky, and to lead the quirky life that only you were born to lead. That’s what I do now and I am the happiest I have ever been.

My motto ’embrace your quirky’ is a system and philosophy, of a different way of life to the norm. That allows you to be your authentic self, and achieve greatness in your life, so you can become truly unstoppable. You can expect more posts about this, and all things quirky from me, in the future.

Until next time –
Embrace your quirky, stay strong, and keep believing in you.

I’m so excited – I just can’t hide it!

I felt the need to share my excitement with you.

When others say you can’t – What do you say?

Hi everyone

When others say I can’t, I say I can, and I do it.

One of the key messages I took away from the Business Showcase South West, was that all successful entrepreneurs have one thing in common, they turn their ideas into reality when everyone says they can’t. This was clearly stated in Karen Brady’s speech.

If someone says you can’t do something that you want to do, what do you say?

image

I recently took this photo of a horse drawn carriage. A couple were inside the carriage, wearing their wedding outfits. Presumably, they had just been married.

What sprung to my mind were two things. Some people say you can’t have a horse drawn carriage for your wedding day, that’s not a reality. Well they certainly made it their reality. Second thing, some say you can’t outrun a horse and he has done just that.

When someone says you can’t, know that you can do anything you set your mind to.

I have a saying; there are no rules other than the ones you set for yourself. Dare to be different, embrace your quirky and do whatever you want to do. As my Grandma always says; there is no such word as can’t. She is my hero and a true inspiration.

I ended the night with a Thai meal.

Now it’s back to the business of writing and finishing off my Break through the barriers of redundancy book so I can upload it to Amazon.

Apologies for not commenting much lately. I haven’t forgotten you or the fantastic content you write. I am just extremely busy and need to finish my book. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

I hope you enjoyed the fishy fun. I found it harder to get the fish to pose for me, in comparison to the animals at Paradise Wildlife Park.
