Blog of the Year 2013 – Twice more

Hi everyone

I know I said I would most likely not be making any more award nominations until February next year, but since this is a 2013 award, I feel I must do this post.

I have been nominated twice by Al from http://kattermonran.com for Blog of the Year 2013. Taking my total up to 3 stars. Thanks Al.

Blog of the Year Award 2 star jpeg

Blog of the Year Award 3 star jpeg

The blogs that I have nominated for the first Blog of the Year Award are:

  1. http://suewestwood.wordpress.com
  2. http://utesmile.wordpress.com
  3. http://babyjill7.wordpress.com
  4. http://sherrimatthewsblog.com
  5. http://friendlyfairytales.com
  6. http://carolynhughesthehurthealer.com
  7. http://marthareynoldswrites.com

The blogs I have nominated for the second Blog of the Year Award are:

  1. http://sheridegrom.wordpress.com
  2. http://mischez2001.wordpress.com
  3. http://transcendingbordersblog.wordpress.com
  4. http://playfulkitty.wordpress.com

The instructions for this award are simple:

1-Select the blog(s) you think deserve the Blog Of The Year 2013 Award.

2-Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen- there are no minimum or maximum number of blogs required- and ‘present’ the blog(s) with their award.

3-Let the blog(s) that you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the instructions with them- (please don’t alter the instructions or the badges!)

4-Come over and say hello to the originator of the Blog Of The Year 2013 Award via this link: http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/blog-awards-2-/blog-of-the-year-2013-award/

5-You can now also join the Blog Of The Year Award Facebook Page.Click the link here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/BlogoftheYear

Share your blog posts with an even wider audience.

6-And as a winner of the award- please add a link back to the blog that presented you with this award-and then proudly display the award on your blog- and start collecting stars!

Stars

Yes-That’s right-There are stars to collect!

Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once-this award is different!

When you begin you will receive the ’1 star’ award- and every time you are given the award by another blog- you can add another star!

There are a total of 6 stars to collect.

Which means that you can check out your favorite blogs- and even if they have already been given the award by someone else- you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum of 6 stars! You can either ‘swop’ your badge for the next one each time you are given the award- or even proudly display all six badges if you are lucky enough to be presented with the award 6 times!

You can find all the badges and banners and information you need via this link: ‘Blog of The Year 2013′ Award Badges.

Congratulations to all the nominees. Enjoy your award.

Please note, that any other type of awards I may gratefully receive, I will not be able to make my nominations for, until February next year, due to having to finish my book.

Write as soon as I am able to.

The Versatile Blogger Award – Final nominations for this year

Hi everyone

I am pleased to announce that on the 3rd of December 2013, I received The Versatile Blogger award from http://playfulkitty.wordpress.com. Check out her blog, especially if you love cats.

After this award, I am up-to-date with my blog nominations.

Unfortunately, although I can accept awards, any new awards I may get nominated for after today, I will most likely not be able to make my nominations for, until February next year. I realise that this may seem a bit strange but my illustrator needs me to finish work on my “Break through the Barriers of Redundancy” book by no later than 20th of January. This is to get the correct sizing for the printed version of the book to put on Amazon. If I don’t meet this deadline, I will have to look for another illustrator and I don’t want to do that as she has done a great job of the e-Book cover and I need consistency.

I still haven’t finished typing the book up and I need to re-work it and re-edit it. Therefore, this is going to take a lot of my time up from now until then.

In the meantime, I may be posting less posts and not commenting as much as I would like to. I am not at this point, going to take a complete break from blogging because I love it too much. I will apologise in advance, if I do not visit your blog as much or make as many comments, if my posts are very short and not necessarily about writing. I hope you understand.

Honoured To Be Front Page News

Hi everyone

I recently received a Good Citizenship Award from the police.

The Exeter based Express & Echo newspaper has covered the story of why I got the award. I am on the front page and page 8.

I took some photos of the newspaper so you can catch a glimpse.

I feel honoured to be given the award and doubly honoured to be featured as front page news.

Good Citizenship Award

Hi everyone

On Thursday 27th of July, I attended a ceremony by the Devon and Cornwall Police. I was very pleased and honoured to have received a Good Citizenship Award.

On the 3rd of January I saw someone who looked like they were about to jump off a bridge. When I spoke to them they were sitting over the rock face of the bridge edging their way down. To cut what seemed a long time, short. By the time I had talked to her around to thinking maybe not going to do it, she was too far down the side of the bridge to get back up and I couldn’t lift her back up. There was no one else nearby. I hung on to her by one arm, with my phone in my other hand holding the phone to her ear, whilst a police lady spoke to her. With only her back gripping the rock, she wasn’t able to hold on any longer and she fell head first in the mud and water. I managed to get her head out of the water before the police and ambulance came.

She was told she wouldn’t be able to walk for 6 months but by April she could.

She has a wicked sense of humour and I am now friends with both her and the police officer.

I was keeping quiet about this but receiving my award is something to shout about. Not because of what I did but because of the life it represents. Also my photo is going to be in the local paper called the Express & Echo.

At the time I wished I could have stopped her from falling but I would have gone over too and then we would have both been in the water and who knows what else. I am just glad she is alive and happy she is my friend.

beatredundancyblues.co.uk Coming Soon

Hi Everyone

I am mega busy at the moment creating my beatredundancyblues.co.uk website, it will be very similar to beatredundancyblues.com with all of your favourite information pages but with a blog added for much more interaction with you. This way you can let me know what you like and what you don’t and what other help and support you need in your quest to find employment.

I realise not all of you will have been made redundant but when it’s officially launched and no longer under construction, I would still appreciate your feedback on the content.

Watch this space for the official launch of beatredundancyblues.co.uk

My web host who hosts beatredundancyblues.com has decided to stop people from using RVSiteBuilder  to build any new website by removing it from their system. As my site is built using this, I now have to get access to my site admin panel through a link. I was informed that eventually the RVSiteBuilder will be dis-continued completely. beatredundancyblues.co.uk was due to be launched at the end of this year but in light of this new challenge, I am creating it now and transferring it’s valuable information over to beatredundancyblues.co.uk. I have to do this manually and re-format it before adding it to the new WordPress.Org site for beatredundancyblues.co.uk

For those of you who are not familiar with beatredundancyblues.com and what is is about, here is an except from it:

This website is designed to give you easy access to a wealth of knowledge, experience and skills needed to survive redundancy and get back into work. No longer do you have to trawl through website after website trying to find the information you want, you can get it all here at the click of a button.

Make your job search easier by getting instant access to these sites at the click of a button. Find an area that interests you and get right to it.
This website is essential for anyone who is:

  1. Redundant
  2. Unemployed
  3. Changing Career
  4. Job Hunting
  5. Lacking In Direction
  6. Wanting Motivation
  7. Needing Help
  8. Looking For Support

I have to say that using WordPress.org compared to the .com version has been far more challenging than I thought it would be. What experience have you had with the .org version compared to the .com? Have you got any advice or hints and tips on how to get the best out of using the .org version?

To those of you who have given me blog awards recently, I will officially acknowledge them in the future but it will be at a later date that I had originally planned. Thanks in advance, I very much appreciate your support.

On thursday this week, I am going to an awards ceremony by the police to be awarded a Good Citizens Award. I feel honoured and humbled to be getting the award and thought I would let you know.
