Something is fishy

Hi Everyone

I was in London for Valentine’s Day and to celebrate I treated myself to a visit at the Sea Life Aquarium. Whilst I was there I took some photos using my phone. I hope you enjoy them.

  1. What was it in the last shot…plant or animal coming up through the sand.
I like going to the aquarium and in the dark when the jellyfish glow. I could watch that tank for hours.

Thanks for your visits and great pictures.
I’ve bookmarked your site. Not sure if I mentioned that before.
    Cheers.

    1. Thanks so much for bookmarking my site, what an honour it is. I love the jellyfish too, especially the see-through ones. I try to visit as many aquariums and zoos around England that I can. I don’t like flying so I am not keen to go abroad, I prefer to keep my feet on the ground. The photo you mention, is showing a form of fish, I think they are like Pipefish that enjoy to stick themselves into the sand. I can’t remember the exact name of them but I thought they were unusual.

      1. Thanks. I wonder if they are related to what ever belongs to the thin pipe like shells found on some southern beaches. There are so many unusual animals. I remember reading about some green luminescent type fish, not sure though if they are ocean or lake. Albino lobster type fish and fish that live very deep in the oceans without much light are also unique.

Are you ready for Alastiar’s photo prompt? I think he is going to post it tomorrow. I just noticed your ‘reality’ acrostic. Fun form acrostics 🙂

      2. Not sure if they are related to whatever belongs in those shells. I like a lot of the music videos that Alastair posts. I usually work in my day job on Sundays but I am visiting my mum tomorrow for Easter as the store is closed. My dad is away for the weekend.

I presume you are talking about my REALITY award? Yes, it’s a lovely award because it says so little and yet so much.

  2. I love these Sandra! Aquariums are fantastic, I used to love the one in Sydney when I lived there, so amazing to see all that undersea life!

Thanks for sharing, hope you’re keeping well 🙂

    1. Hi Rohan. Thanks. I make it my mission to visit as many aquariums and zoos as possible because I love them so much. I find the fishes especially relaxing to watch. You must miss the Sydney Aquarium but what about aquariums in Ireland? I went back to work today but still not well. Didn’t get one minute of sleep last night.

      1. Hi Ankit

I read your story and I thought it was very gripping. You have certainly put a lot of emotion into it.

To give you some constructive advice, pay attention to your sentence structure, as sometimes it was a little hard to read and to understand who was speaking.

Being English I wasn’t sure by what you kept referring to as a “bald uncle”?

Overall a very interesting read. I think the ending is great. Congratulations.

      2. Thanks for the elaborate comment. Thanks, really! 🙂

After posting that story, I, too, felt that the sentences were really long and not an easy-read. I also felt that I could have edited it shorter. I ma glad that you noticed and pointed it out!

Keeping all these things, I wrote a new story with better editing. It has been awarded with Editor’s Choice tag too 😀

      4. Sure. I have done better than that. I have just published a post with the answer to your question. You will find the full instructions for how to put a blog award on a WordPress blog in my latest post. I hope you find the information helpful and can understand it. Let me know how you get on.

  3. Hi Sandra,
I absolutely agree with the other bloggers – the penguins are great – what super colours. Glad you had such a good time. Best wishes from Hamburg – we have a nice zoo here too if you’re ever in town 🙂

    1. Thanks Louise. I took lots of photos of the penguins. I think I should have done a penguin post instead – Or maybe that should be my next post? I love zoos and aquariums, I have visited loads around England. If I am ever in Hamburg I will be sure to check out the zoo. It’s not too likely though, as I have a fear of flying and tend to holiday in this country.
